Surrounded by nature, the Campbells Island State Forest Camping Area is a captivating location on the bank of the Little Murray River on Campbells Island. It is an unrefined bush camping spot with no direct amenities, offering an authentic outdoor experience. The location also serves as a logging area, which requires cautious navigation, emphasizing its raw wilderness allure. The camping area is known for its resident mobs of kangaroos, adding to the an intriguing charm of the area. However, visitors must exercise caution, as these creatures can be quite timid. Do note, vehicular access may be challenging during wet weather due to the single-lane road and limited turning opportunities. A stay here promises a unique encounter with Australian wildlife amidst the untouched beauty of the forest.

Proceed to waypoint on North Barham Road, 3.5km from Barham. At waypoint turn west onto Cappiellos Lane, (sign on RH side of North Barham Road). Proceed for 900m to entrance to State Forest where you cross a grid and are now on Little Murray Road. Continue on Little Murray Road for 3.2km to a bridge across the Little Murray River on your left. Cross this bridge on Campbells Island Road. You are now on Campbells Island. The camping area is 600m along the road on your right. There are quite a few other options in this area, but most are at the end of rough bush tracks.
