Edward River Campground is a free, pet-friendly camping spot ideal for caravans, motorhomes, and tents, positioned amidst tall eucalyptus trees for picture-perfect, lit-up, shaded spots. It is designed to encourage close-to-nature experiences and cherishes private camping areas - some even located on the serene riverside. Visitors are invited to enjoy the tranquillity of nature, engage in activities such as walks along Edward River, and immerse themselves in hobbies including reading, fishing, or kayaking. The campground ensures the convenience of the visitors with amenities such as long-drop toilets, rubbish bins, and several large camp areas. Although potable water is not provided on-site, drinking water can be conveniently accessed near the Mathoura Information Centre. The camping community is urged to respect the environment by camping in clear areas and avoiding off-track ventures. The site promises a peaceful atmosphere outside of school holidays and the Easter period. It's also situated close to Mathoura for any necessary supplies, making Edward River Campground a perfect blend of isolation and accessibility.

From Mathoura, take Jones Road to Picnic Point Road for approx 5km to Millewa Road (just past the Reed Bed Bird Hide sign), then approx 2.5km along a very good dirt road to the Picnic and Campground. Drive past the day-use area along the well formed dirt road. There are two cleared camp areas on the right and another on the left. Continue to the right, past the toilets and the road ends at the main campground.
