Galena Bridge Four Mile Pool Rest Area Murchison River is a reliable stop-over place designed for a 24-hour camping experience. Authenticated by Main Roads Western Australia, it offers ample space for large vehicles, accessible through a sealed road. Nestled near Murchison River, it becomes impervious during moderate flooding. This rest area is rated high in popularity during the prime tourist period running from May to October, usually a non-flooding phase for the river. The high demand for this site has resulted in relocation and expansion of the camping area to the north bank with a new toilet block, alongside an additional one on the larger south side. Certain areas may be uneven. The north side, comparatively serene, has limited flat sections. 13km north of Kalbarri turn off, 115km south of Billabong Roadhouse on the eastern side of North West Coastal Highway. The old highway bridge links the two sides, so from whichever direction you are approaching, look for the well-signed turn-off to the east side of the highway just as you descend towards the river. The new highway bridge crosses at a much higher level.
