Lake Cressbrook Campground is a tranquil waterfront retreat, enveloped by grassy expanses and shaded by lofty trees. Campground amenities include warm showers, a fully-equipped camp kitchen, BBQ stations, and facilities for fish preparation. The lake is teeming with an abundance of aquatic species, including Yellow Belly, Silver Perch, Bass, Mary River Cod and Saratoga, creating a prime location for fishing enthusiasts. For those who own a boat, a ramp is conveniently located at the day-use area, a brief drive around the lake's perimeter. The campground has allocated a specific area for the accommodation of caravans and motorhomes. While the tracks can accommodate units up to around 22 feet, larger vehicles may struggle with tight corners and narrow passages. One of the distinct features of Lake Cressbrook Campground is its serenity, which is partly due to the absence of a 3G signal in the location. While some may view this as a slight inconvenience, many others see it as a golden opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature.

18km east of Crows Nest at the end of Perseverance Dam Road. Once you go through the gate at the waypoint, the going gets rather steep. Good practice dictates that if you are towing a caravan or your vehicle is heavy, it is safest to select a low gear to save overheating the brakes. If you do need to brake as well, do so intermittently to allow cooling of the brakes. Hot brakes fade just when you need them most.
