The Little Blue Lake Rest Area is a spacious rest stop with plenty of spaces for vehicles of any size. It offers a level limestone surface to park and rest, followed by the opportunity to stretch your muscles by exploring the adjacent natural wonder - the Little Blue Lake. This unique water body is a sinkhole filled with deep fresh water, enclosed by striking limestone formations. Along with the fascinating geography, adventurers can access the lake through a stairway leading to a pontoon, ideal for swimming and canoeing. Remember to pack your water gear! However, while the lake may not be as grand in size as an Olympic swimming pool, it is rich with local aquatic life - concealing blue-green algae periodically. This could sometimes cause minor skin irritation. Be aware, especially when engaging in water activities. The lake also plays host to an array of wildlife, the most common being the wild ducks gracefully floating on the water.
