Moorine Rocks Picnic Area

North Bodallin, WA

About this campsite

Moorine Rocks Picnic Area is an authentic Australian bush camp perfect for a picnic, complete with fireplaces. Ideal for nature lovers, visitors can enjoy local wildflowers in their season, bushwalking, and birdwatching. The climbable rocks provide a vantage point for magnificent landscape views. Even historic enthusiasts have something, as the place houses a rock-lined well from 1862 built by explorer C.C. Hunt. Please note that while smaller caravans can be accommodated, the area may not be suitable for larger rigs.

The area is inhabited by low scrub which offers little shade. There are no amenities here. This is a place where wildflowers can be enjoyed in season and bushwalking and birdwatching at almost any time. The rocks are easy to climb and offer some great views across the landscape. There is a weak mobile phone signal at the picnic area but it is very strong on top of the rock. There is a well here that was built by explorer C.C. Hunt in 1862. It does not contain water, but was carefully lined with rocks. Most caravans will be OK here, but the tight turns and limited room make it unsuitable for large rigs.
