Florida Keys

The Keys run 180 kilometres from Key Largo to Key West, with state park campgrounds at Bahia Honda, Long Key and John Pennekamp booking out months ahead in winter. Camping is oceanfront by default — snorkelling and flats fishing start at the site. Winter is the dry high season; summer brings heat, mosquitoes and hurricane watch.
