There are some power outlets attached to the toilet block and a donation is requested for the use of these. Payment for hot showers and power can be made at the information centre in town. Wedderburn is located in typical box-ironbark country in the Golden Triangle of Victoria. While much of the country in this area was cleared for agriculture, there are significant large parcels of natural forest around Wedderburn, encouraging birds and wildlife, making the town a birdwatchers' paradise. Wedderburn is also one of the few places where both Eastern and Western Grey Kangaroos can be seen in the same locality. You may even get a glimpse of the rare Yellow Footed Antechinus, a tree-dwelling carnivorous marsupial. Not to be outdone, the lizards are also well represented here, with the Thick-tailed Gecko and the Lace Monitor can be seen.
