The Oakey Creek Bowenville Reserve is a sprawling, flat open space that can accommodate many camping configurations of all sizes, making it a fitting destination for group get-togethers. The area closest to the toilets on the higher ground is highly recommended for camping to avoid potential bogging issues after rain as the areas near the creek are made of black soil. The reserve doesn't offer a water source, so visitors must come prepared. Fires are permitted in certain designated areas, away from the creek. During long weekends, the place becomes a popular spot, thus adding a lively ambiance. There is a boat ramp available; however, it is quite steep and unsealed. This could pose a challenge for 2WD vehicles, so it's best suited for hardier vehicles. Proceed to waypoint, 400m west of Bowenville turnoff on Warrego Highway. Turn south onto Bowenville-Norwin Road and continue for 4km to reserve on south-eastern side of the road.
