The Gap Camping Area is an idyllic outdoor spot located on the tranquil eastern coast of Spencer Gulf, which is 26 kilometers away from Moonta. Although it offers minimal shade or wind protection, its allure lies in its prime fishing locations, as well as a safe environment for swimming. The camping area itself is level, and is set on a solid sandy base, making it accessible for 2WD vehicles except during wet conditions. For adventure-lovers, the access to the beach using 4WD vehicles provides a thrilling experience, albeit one that should be taken with caution. Additionally, the area appeals to fishing enthusiasts, as it allows the launch of small to medium tinnies for fishing out in the sea, even though beach fishing is also quite a fruitful activity in this area.
